Post-Processing Tool for Wide Bandwidth Signals




X-COM’s Radar and RF Signal Analysis Software provides engineers and scientists with an effective tool to quickly capture and analyze challenging RF signals that contain very wide bandwidths. This Windows-based application allows users to simultaneously view captured waveforms and the corresponding post-processed analysis windows in both the time and frequency domains.

RF measurement instrumentation currently available is not well equipped to deal with emerging RF technologies. Conventional equipment often provides less than 100 MHz of usable bandwidth. By contrast, applications such as radar can sometimes utilize bandwidths of a gigahertz or more. Another historical limitation has been the sacrificing of wide bandwidths at the expense of accurate frequency resolution.

X-COM overcomes these limitations by providing advanced software technology which is targeted for Tektronix Oscilloscopes. The state-of-the-art Analog-to-Digital converter circuitry incorporated in modern oscilloscopes provides much larger capture bandwidths - Tektronix currently offers oscilloscopes which can capture data at 40 GigaSamples per second, achieving bandwidths of 15 GHz or more.

As shown above, the complicated process of translating captured data into meaningful results has been streamlined by the so?ware. With just a few clicks of the mouse, users can retrieve data directly from oscilloscopes and quickly display the essential information embedded within even the most complex RF modulations.
