32-Channel NTDS Type E Serial Matrix Switch

The MPS-32 Naval Tactical Data System (NTDS) Type E Serial Matrix Switch connects up to 32 MIL-STD-1397C devices. The MPS-32 provides low-latency as well as a transparent, non-blocking interconnection between any pair of devices. By regenerating 100% of the incoming signal, the MPS-32 ensures maximum data integrity.

As part of X-COM’s line of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) NTDS solutions, the rack mountable MPS-32 offers the highest number of ports in the smallest form factor available. The MPS-32 allows NTDS networks to be rapidly reconfigured using a PC or Master Switch Controller. It is designed to cost-effectively meet the unique needs of today’s NTDS development, evaluation, and training environments.

System Design And Testing:

The MPS-32 delivers unmatched performance and reliability. It has been rigorously field-tested with demonstrated bit-error rates of less than 10^-10 and latency less than 500 nanoseconds. The unit’s modular design consists of eight removable quad NTDS Type E line cards in groups of four and two modular power supplies. Front-panel status indicators simplify monitoring link status while low-power consumption further reduces system maintenance and increases network up-time.

Up to four MPS-32 units can be linked via fiber optic cables to create low-latency, nonblocking configurations of 64, 96, or 128 channels. The MPS-32 units can be located in a large matrix switch up to 14 km apart.
